Shravanabelagola in Karnataka is a revered Jain pilgrimage site, home to the majestic 57-foot monolithic statue of Lord Bahubali. Carved from a single granite block, it symbolizes renunciation and self-realization. Every 12 years, the Mahamastakabhisheka ritual draws thousands. Nearby Chandragiri Hill houses ancient Jain basadis. This sacred site reflects Karnataka’s deep spiritual roots and centuries-old Jain heritage.
Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu is a sacred pilgrimage site, linked to Lord Rama’s journey to Lanka. The Ramanathaswamy Temple, known for its towering corridors and sacred wells, houses one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Pilgrims perform rituals for ancestral blessings here. It’s also believed that Rama built the floating bridge, Ram Setu, from this very shore, blending myth, devotion, and history.
